[Ten minutes is all Rin will need to prepare himself and get ready. Whenever Ron arrives to the courtyard there will be a young man standing right where Rin said he would be. That young man is wearing his uniform properly. His hair is parted just so and it has been (somehow) been brushed down enough to look tidy. His arms are crossed and he looks as though he can't stand up straight and tall much longer.

Rin -- the upstanding young man -- is also wearing a pair of glasses. It's obvious that he can't see out of them with how much squinting he's doing. ...Or maybe he has a headache. It's hard to tell.]

[ If he still had the ability to cross his arms, they would be crossed right now because something is awfully wrong about this picture. So in lieu of crossed arms, he's going to be approaching with a raised brow and his head tilted to the side.

As much as... Rin (because he knows it's you brah. It's how you carry yourself.) kinda sorta maybe if you squint looks like Yukio, the differences are easy to... erm.... spot. ]

...If you were going on a date and needed someone to fix you up, mate, you should've said so to start.

[That trick worked out so much better when they were both small and about the same height... Rin looks thoroughly put out about being discovered in less time than it took to get dressed - fake moles and all. Still, he shakes his head.]

No. This is 'pposed to be a secret meet up. Get it? [Undercover spy shit. Espionage. Secret documents. Might have helped to give Ron a memo but. Eh. Details.]

Alright, alright. Secret. Got it.

[ Color him amused. But he'll get in closer anyway so it looks... normal. Yup. Just two classmates having a conversation in the courtyard. Nothing to look at here, people, carry on. ]

So... what's this secret meeting about then?

Top secret. We can't even tell Yukio - not yet.

[This is serious business despite Rin's offbeat approach to the subject. Yukio is always serious business, more so if Rin trusts another person enough to believe that they'll have Yukio's best interests in mind.

Rin pushes up the glasses. He reaches to take them off but stops himself at the last moment, and messes up his carefully crafted hair instead.]

You're a shinigami so you can tell if even weirder shit has been going down than usual, right? Like people changing?

[ And it must be serious business if Rin's telling him not to tell Yuki so... he'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Surely there's got to be a reason for all this.

Though his question is met with a frown and a thoughtful hum. ]

Sort of... maybe. But it hasn't been the same since I got here. My guess is as good as yours most times and slightly better some other times. Why?

[Dammit. He was hoping that someone supernatural would know for sure. Not for the first time, Rin wishes he was as articulate as his brother.]

I think this place is screwin' with us. ...But more than the usual weird stuff. ...When Yukio was taken to the nurses' office, I couldn't get him out. But something weird happened.

[He's not sure how to explain something he had only felt like a pulse. He hadn't even seen it but Yata looked surprised enough.]

It was like - like a fwom. [He tries to mime the feeling of something rising? Like - Like warm stuff. He gives up with a huff.] I dunno, whatever it was, I've never felt anything like that until then. And the feeling stayed for a while, too!

[If he's at all worried or concerned, it only shows in how agitated Rin seems to be.]

That's not normal. [He can deal with not normal. He lifts heavy stuff. But the fwom? That's not him.]

[ He's not that magical though, Rin, geez. Supernatural, yes but certainly not magical. There's a raised brow at the fwom. ]

Can't say I've ever heard or felt anything like that before... not here at least.

[ And of course that isn't normal! Even he'd know that for sure. ]

What happened after though? Did it stay all day?

No. It ... it sorta got smaller and ... I couldn't feel it anymore. But it comes when I get mad. [He's able to determine that much thanks to Yata.]

I can still... Dammit! [He yanks off the damn glasses and shoves them in his pant pocket. He's already annoyed enough as is, he didn't need his vision to bug him too.] ...It's still -- there. Like - [Like right now. It's just a blip on Rin's radar, but it's enough to get his attention. Rin crosses his arms and looks away.] Whatever!

[Annoyed as he is with himself, Rin still has to answer that second question of Ron's. It was the heart of the matter, after all. A prelude to the main event.] But ... [This is harder to say for a different reason.] ... The next day someone said I didn't smell human.

Blimey, that's odd...

[ If you don't mind, he's just going to get in closer now, his head tilting this way and that to get a closer look at Rin's features. It's clear from the sudden serious look on his face Ron's scrutinizing him, as if trying to pick out anything odd but it all amounts to nothing. No weird eye color, no fangs... he takes a quick glance at Rin's hand and sure enough his nails are clear. He's definitely alive, that much he can tell... and the boy's no reaper. He doesn't need glasses to begin with. ]

Did you ask what you smelled like? Because you look fairly human to me.

[I DO MIND, GOOD SIR. Rin was about to back away because hello sir we were just talking why you so close. It was weird but Rin forced himself to relax and stood as tall as he could for the examination. Rin flexed his hands every now and then.

What would Ron find? Rin looked in the mirror every so often. His reflection was the same as always. If anything, he's been doing a good job of not using too much strength so he hasn't been getting the same stares he got back home. ...They only seemed to look at him funny when he got mad.

When Ron delivers his findings, Rin clenches his jaw. He still looked human? ...Then why doesn't he feel as human as he did when he first got here? It didn't make sense.]

I didn't ask. Didn't wanna talk about it.

[Oh. Well, he always knew he was different but... whatever, what he feels isn't as important as the real issue here. He's always been the weird kid so it makes sense that whatever is going on is happening to him. Whatever "it" is.]

...Whatever the hell is goin' on with me, we gotta make sure that it's not gonna happen to Yukio.

[ Nope, nothing weird there. Definitely nothing weird. Satisfied with his assessment, he's just going to step away now. No offense, Rin, but you're not your brother. But don't mind him stealing a quick glance at those fidgeting hands just to make sure you aren't sporting any claws or black nailpolish or nothing. Nothing catches his eye so nothing's going to change his assessment.

Though now there's a small concerned look on his face. ]

D'you think it's the school what's done this to you?
Whatever it is, of course.

[THANK GOODNESS HE'S NOT HIS BROTHER. There are enough visually impaired peeps with beauty marks in the anime industry as is!]

It makes sense. That's how it always starts out in those movies. 'Cept if anyone else is goin' through it, they're not sayin' much.

[He briefly entertained the thought of looking at the bulletin board. The thought was immediately tried for Treason Against Rin's Standards and promptly brought to justice.]

You mean like Yuki?

[ He can't help but make the comparison, really. Twins these two may be but they're nothing alike with how they act. ]

Either way, at least I have a fair idea as to what to look out for in case he's started changing too.

[ Oh Ron... if you only knew... ]

[GOOD SHOW, SIR. Rin doesn't mind or notice the comparison. They were still related despite not really acting much like ideal twins.

Rin lightly punches Ron's shoulder.]

Awesome! Knew I could count on you!

[ Way to bring his spirits up, man. Now he's even more confident he can handle your brother. ]

M'not that incompetent, mind! No worries, though. Yuki'll be in good hands, you can count on that much at least.

[ Did he sound a bit too serious about Yuki being in good hands? Maybe. ]
