[ He's going to head right back to the dorm after class, deciding to hang around the lobby first until Rin decides to show up. ]

[ Ron that's terrible and you make it sound like you've gone and invited the wrong Okumura. ]

[Rin's all smiles and barely contained excitement when he spots Ron. Still, he keeps it cool and manages to keep his waving to the bare minimum.]

Yo! Let's go to my room. If Yukio comes along, it'll be easier to get 'em away.

[ At least they seem immune to how misleading they sound. ]

[ He's just going to get started up the stairs and through the hall. Don't ask how he knows where Yuki's dorm is. He just does. ]

You remember what we talked about last time? About the - the fwom? I had a dream! Or a memory, I guess. It wasn't the same as a nightmare.

[Once at the dorms, Rin swings open the door and let's Ron in first. It makes sense that Ron would know where to go, especially with his arm the way it is.]

Thing is, I think I get it now.

[ Boys you sound like you've been up to things teenage boys do when at a certain age and not necessarily with each other. But yep, heading to his dorm like it's his second home and flopping ]

I'm not mad! But, thing is, I gotta be mad for it to happen on purpose. [Or scared but - HA! - as if Ron could legitimately scare him.]

Yukio prob'bly told you how I was missin' until our birthday. When that was goin' on I was in the nurse's office, I guess, but I was really back home and lotsa shit happened.

[Rin stops for a moment as he tries to think of the best way to explain himself without sounding crazy. It was bad enough that he was even acknowledging that his dream was really a memory, but to openly admit the secret therein was something far more terrifying.

But, the Ron Social Link is already on Level 7. Things should be okay. Ron was also a Shinigami. Someone like that ought to know much more than he did. Rin shakes his head, as though to clear away those terribly nagging thoughts. They didn't suit him very well. Still, he hesitated a moment longer. Maybe he was stalling? Wow, that would be lame... but he needed to stall for a little bit. Just enough to give him that extra bit he needed before he plowed forward.]

D'you mean like how Yuki got carted off?

[ There's got to be a pattern here. But he 's not going to say anything for now. After all, Rin wasn't the most brilliant with words so he might need some time to collect his thoughts and things. Ron decides to shift into a more comfortable sitting position, only leaning forward when he's addressed again. ]

Course I know about demons! Spent most me afterlife dealing with them, really. What about?

Yeah! Like when Yukio was dragged off to the nurse's office, 'cept we weren't fightin' this time.

[BRACE THYSELF. Rin has a look of put-up concentration settled upon his face. He's soooo ready for all of this to make sense and not be confusing anymore. And maybe Ron was an expert! He said he dealt with them all the time! Granted, Rin's only seen one demon in action and it wasn't pretty, but maybe there were other things!]

Well... Demons and the fwom thing kinda go hand in hand. It's this weird blue fire and Yata has it too, but his is red and he's the most human guy I know so it doesn't make sense how I'm the one who's not human and it's stupid because -

[That might have come out in a rush. That probably sounded dumb as all hell. Can he take it back? Maybe.]

[ So there's another kid here who has the fwom thing? Odd. But he rests his head on his good hand, frowning slightly as Rin goes on just so he can focus better on whatever's on his friend's mind. ]

Even if you lot were demons, you're nothing like the demons we've had back home! S'not like I've caught either of you noshing on souls or any of that.

[ He can't help but chuckle as he reaches out to grab Rin's shoulder. ]

Easy on, mate. No matter what you'n Yuki've gotten yourselves into, safe to say I don't give a rat's arse. You're both alright in my book and m'not about to write you lot off for whatever sodding reason. So calm down, alright? You sound like someone who's about to explain why they've accidentally broken a vase.

Huh?

[Huuuuuuuuh? Wow, this must be the level of expertise that Ron had! ... Or.... No, this was the friendship thing! This had to be it! That's right, Rin wasn't like that - not that he was but even if he was - Ron said it too and - Rin's shocked but he still laughs in relief. He wasn't holding his breath or anything but... It felt good to know that Ron didn't think he was some kinda thing.]

Man, you're so awesome!! You'd like Yata, too, 'cause he's like a member of some gang but he's seriously cool about it!

[OH MAN, HE COULD TOTALLY HUG RON RIGHT NOW, but nah. Some other time.]

Yukio might not like 'im, but it's okay! I'm sure he'd think Yata's okay too. ... He probably wouldn't like the flames though. I dunno if we can, but do you think we can stop what's going on with me from happening to Yukio?

[ But back to the matter at hand. There's a sigh as he turns his attention down, brow knotting into a frown once Rin's question gets to him. ]

I dunno, mate. Depends on what's happening, prolly. What... is happening and why d'you think it's gonna happen to Yuki?

[That's right, this here is the Most Important Part. Listen close, Ron, because Rin actually has an idea.]

I dunno what's happening. [BAM. BRILLIANCE IN A NUTSHELL.]

But the old man said I "awakened" and that I was the son of demon. [He's still waiting for the TV host to declare that Satan is not the father.] So if I am, then that means Yukio is too since we're twins. But that's not fair to Yukio so we gotta stop it from happening!

[ To be perfectly honest, Rin, this all makes no sense to him. So he's just gonna sit quietly while he gets this sort of history lesson. ]

Yeah, that prolly makes sense... but...

[ And a moment's hesitation because really. Demons from his world don't up and have kids. But hey, Rin hasn't been one to lie to him. He seems way too... earnest... for that sort of thing. ]

Well... prolly it won't be as bad as you think? Who knows, mate. Methods I know of dealing with demons aren't as benign as yours are though.

... Yeah. It can't be all that bad if nuthin's happenin' to Yukio. [Okay, yeah, there was the whole "humanity" dilemma but Rin could ignore that for now. Dammit, he wants to get to the cool part!

Rin sort of makes a face at the end of Ron's statement.]

Benign? Hey, I dunno how to deal with demons! [As far as Rin could tell, Father Fujimoto used some kind of kung-fu prayer.]

We kick their arse, suffice to say! Though even if you and Yuki turn out to be demons, I've no reason to kick your arses.

[ Specially Yuki's. But that's beyond the point. ]

Right so... what's this got to do with the fwom then?

Oh yeah, still gotta blow your mind! [He totally didn't forget. Nope. Rin holds out his hand! And he actually manages to stand still! He closes his eyes as hard as he can and thinks reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally hard!! And! ... Nothing happens.]

Huh? [Rin opens his eyes and sees exactly what Ron sees - nothing. He frowns but he tries to really think about the fwom and all the things about it.]

Dammit... Oh! Okay, so I gotta be upset, right? So say something stupid - but you gotta mean it.

[ Say something stupid? Get his friend upset? Gosh, what a tall order.

So he's going to think a bit, a faint 'hmmm' coming from him as he tries to figure this out. Clearly he's got to pick something that would piss him off. A real scorcher. Something noxious. ]

[ . . . This was a bad idea. He knows that Ron doesn't mean it. Heck, half the time Ron is encouraging his hoodlum tendencies. It's a real pity though. That line would have been really horrendous had Rin known what became of his father.]
